Andy Gillett

Andy Gillett, is now in his 40th year of flying after obtaining his glider licence at the age of 16 and Private Pilots Licence (PPL) at 17 and has in excess of 15,000 hours and 30 types in his logbook

He joined the Royal Air Force at age 18 and served for 14 years as a fast jet pilot with roles as a Jaguar Qualified Weapons Instructor (QWI), Hawk A2 Qualified Flying Instructor (QFI) and No3 Flying Training School (FTS) Flight Commander. Service aircraft flown include the Gnat, Hunter, Jaguar and Hawk.

After leaving the RAF, Andy spent the next 14 years with Cathay Pacific, flying the Lockheed L1011 Tristar and Airbus A340 / A330, and became a Base Training Captain and Senior Training Captain of both types respectively.

Andy's current job is as Captain, flying Airbus A319 / A320 part time with a UK low cost airline. He is also a member of Team Viper, the Strikemaster Display Team.

He is also the proud owner of Hawker Hunter PR11 WT723 (G-PRII)
